Planning: Isolating buffer section

I thought about the isolating landscape buffer some more and thought I might be able to reduce the required distance if I sited the house in a valley.  Of course, this is the opposite of what you usually want to do because you won't get nice views with long vistas.  And you might have to deal with flooding in the basement.  But if you really, really want to ignore your neighbors, it might be worth it.
