Design: Facade style change

After rediscovering pictures of my thesis last week, I started flipping through the rest of my thesis materials.  Since I was examining McMansions as a building type, I started with a book of plans called American Dream Houses.  That's where I found the house I modeled and then dissected.

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to take the front view of one of these houses and 'modernize' it to suit my taste.  So here it is before:

Roughly the same volumes and windows, but different style and personality.
