One thing I see a lot in tract homes are dining rooms with lighting fixtures directly in the middle of the room. This makes sense until you want to add a sideboard. Then the table is pushed slightly off center, which means the light is also off center.
It's an easy procedure to call an electrician and have the j-box relocated. It would also be easy to 'mask' the issue with a linear chandelier. Something like this could be installed centered over the table, with the electrical cable leading to the off-center j-box.
And here's a more affordable option that could also work.
