Organization: Sweater folding board

While browsing Gilt (referral), I came across this product; a sweater folding board.
[Folding board at Clos-ette Too]
It seemed like a good idea:
  1. Smells nice
  2. Keeps sweaters folded in the same size for easier storage
  3. Might motivate me to actually fold my sweaters instead of balling them up in a corner
So I made a board to test it out.  I used fabric remnants, cedar shavings, and foam board and made this.
Then I folded a sweater with it and, almost immediately, it was problematic.  The board in the sweater didn't allow for any bend, so I had a hard time getting it into the dresser.
And it got worse when I tried to get anything out from underneath.  Again, the stiff board wouldn't allow for any movement, so I couldn't even flip through my sweaters to find anything in the stack.

Given these restrictions, I think the folding board would only work for sweaters stored on open shelves.
